During a sailing incentive event for his team, Karl-Christian Bay, founder and managing partner of BAY GmbH & Co. KG, approached me with a spontaneous request:
Would I capture portraits of his senior staff – just as they were in that moment? Sweaty, tired, and sunburned from a day on the water – but fulfilled and smiling.
While scouting for the right setting, we came across an old boathouse near the shore. It offered the perfect natural light: soft, directional, and full of texture – a quiet backdrop that brought each face to life.
The resulting portraits were unplanned, honest, and full of character. They captured more than appearance – they reflected camaraderie, leadership, and the energy of a shared experience.
Today, these images hang in large format on the walls of the BAY Consulting offices in Lindau on Lake Constance.
