Shooting with Olympic sailor Philipp Buhl is one of the most intense and exciting moments behind the camera for me. Philipp is one of the most successful Laser sailors in the world – world champion, multiple European champion and Olympic participant. But what sets him apart goes far beyond medals: precision, absolute control and the unconditional will to get the maximum out of every manoeuvre.
I particularly enjoy shooting with the water camera at eye level with the action – especially in the laser class. No frills, no technical gimmicks: one man, one boat, pure athleticism. In hardly any other boat class is physical performance, strength, balance and reaction speed expressed as clearly as in the Laser.
